# Abstract Confusions

Complexity is not a cause of confusion. It is a result of it.

## Gravity No More a Fundamental Force?

Ever since Newton discovered gravitational force, people tried to understand how it worked. Unlike other forces gravity continued to puzzle scientists and people all the same.

### Gravity – A Weak Force

Gravity is a weak force. The gravitational force is given by

$F=\frac{G \times M_1 \times M_2}{r^2}$.

Where $G$ is a constant, $M_1$ and $M_2$ is mass of the two respective bodies. Now, why do I call it as weak force?

Consider this scenario, when you are combing your hair, the hair falls down. When you calculate gravitational force, it take the entire mass of earth to act over a single hair. To make things worse, all you need is the static energy from the comb to lift the hair from floor. And yet you can not rule this force altogether. There were several theories put forward to explain gravitational force. Several approaches include string theory and quantum mechanics treatments.

## Barbarians led by Bill Gates

Recently I read a book about Microsoft’s Operating systems – Windows.

This happened to be a good read if you have interests in product / software development. I have long cherished other operating systems, like Linux and other UNIX systems. Mainly for their ability to do things and robustness. Windows was never in picture. After I finished reading it, I had a complete new look towards Windows.

It is of like, poor chap, he has tried so many things. No wonder why he couldn’t be like Apple mac or Linux OS.

Few pointers from the book.

## Math comic sites

There are some important, good, hilarious math sites you need to follow.  Few of them are listed below.

### xkcd.com

xkcd is one the best comic strip site based on math and drawn Randall Munroe. Randall, graduated as a physics student, writes most of the time about mathematics, romance, sarcasm and language.

He draws panel comics. And the figures in stick forms. Most of the strips have comments in the mouse over tool tips. There are some wonderful comic strips in his site. Few strips from there.

Numerical sexual positions defined

Well, chill down. Not all strips are not like that. And my best.

## Penrose in Quantum Computing!?!

I never knew the fanciful applications of mathematics in physics. First, I am poor at physics and not interested in it. But when I read this entry, I was amazed.

I have already posted an entry about the book I read in my googlepage. The book in Emperor’s mind written by Roger Penrose. He invented a new way tiling and the method is known as Penrose Tiling.

Go ahead and read it! It has very good basic details.
